Dear friends, followers, fans, and members. We’d like to take this opportunity to tell you that we’ve moved our account to a new home that can accommodate the full spectrum of our Society. This was done mainly to accommodate new members, furnishing them with the ability to post their research and findings.

Our work will continue at the same address you’ve always known, but if you’ve been following us through your Tumblr dashboard only, please visit us at http://revelrysociety.com and re-follow us.

In true Revelry Society spirit, and to warm up our new account, we’re going to re-blog at random our entire catalogue of posts that we’ve amassed over the past 1.5 years. You’ll see these in your dashboard or on our site along with the new content resulting from our continued research into the world of revelry.

We’re also canvassing for new members. If you have something you’d like to research for Revelry Society please get in touch with us and we can add you to our Tumblr account, allowing you access to other members of the Society and our followers throughout the world.

Revelry Society Sits at "21" For Awhile

Grumblings from Society members in the New York area have been steadily growing since mid-August when it was announced that a new bar to be built inside the famous “21” Club would include seating and beer on tap.

Changes at “21” have never gone over well with its aging clientele, let alone Revelry Society members who are resistant to change of any kind. Recent changes in its 80+ year history include a reconfiguration of the bar in 1996, the removal of brass spittoons in 2006, and the allowance of men into the dining room without a tie in 2009. Now seating at a bar will be allowed in a separate area to be called Bar 21.

Until now, any bar in “21” was standing only. In our opinion, exactly as a bar should be; a place to lean and a place to order. This will change shortly when “21” will re-open from its usual summer hiatus with a seated bar and beer on tap; another first.

While the rest of the world moves on with progress we would like to turn back the internet for awhile and revel in the history of the famous “place with the numbers.” Do enjoy your stay.
